How to Communicate With the Dead

Believe it or not, there are many ways to communicate with spirit, over and above the ones that everyone already is familiar with.

For example...

Did you know that "mirror gazing" or using what is called a psychomanateum, can lead to profound experiences with spiritual visitation? (and experiences that well over 90% of those who try it report felt as "real" as if they were visiting their loved ones while alive)

As a matter of fact... the famous author, Dr. Raymond Moody (well known for coining the phrase "Near Death Experience" in his seminar book, "Life after Life") spent a few years researching using mirror gazing to facilitate personal experiences with the deceased... and the published results were remarkable. (and documented in his book entitled, "ReUnions")

How about EMDR? Familiar with it? It's a form of therapeutic rapid eye movement that is well known to help all sorts symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder, and as an unexpected side effect, many patients reported having incredible visitations with their deceased loved ones while having the experiences. Dr Alan Boyntin, the pioneer of this particular healing modality also has written extensively about these "after-worldly" encounters as a result of having this exotic treatment... and while he's not sure what they represent, they clearly are being reported as 100% real by his patients.
Other easy ways to get personal proof that the afterlife is AVAILABLE to you?

I've had amazing experiences with a Ouija board that were so incredible...most of the people I tell about them DON'T think they're true. (and they are, as those of us who were there can attest!)

Meditation is a great way to develop mediumistic abilities, as it seems to reduce the mental filter that separates our biology (our brains) from being able to access the otherworldly and afterlife realms (which I believe are pure energy... and meditation helps us to open up channels within our minds to access this energy that is always around us).

Is there any real PROOF that mediums talk to the dead...or is it all just wishful thinking?

The truth? There is an ABUNDANCE of proof that after life communication is not only possible...that there are MANY gifted mediums who can facilitate this with some degree of ease. Even MORESO than mediums alone, though...there is actually an abundance of evidence that supports the idea that AVERAGE people, with NO psychic skill, can make contact with loved ones who have passed on...without doing anything exceptional whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, near death experiences, out of body experiences, crisis apparitions, (when the spirit of someone JUST deceased appears, impossibly... to another person many miles away) death bed visions, after death communications (called ADC's), past life memories, and of course.....the impressive history of many gifted mediums throughout history, ALL point to the obvious truth that our spiritual selves, or some "part" of our essence, actually leaves the body and survives physical death. When you actually look at the totality of the evidence.it's actually FAR more reasonable to believe that we have a spiritual self that continues on after death...and CAN communicate with those left behind, than it is to believe that EVERY experience above over the course of human history has been a mistake, a lie, or a hallucination.

What do Mediums actually do?

It depends on the medium. For example, famous psychic medium John Edward likens it to having a conversation with someone at the bottom of a pool...or behind a heavy glass door. You can make our much of the sounds, and see shapes and figures, but it's often difficult to understand EXACTLY what is being said, or make out very distinctive physical characteristics. In other cases...the energies come through very clearly, without any trouble, and communicate is a very concise and easy to interpret fashion...and many of these cases are the STRONGEST evidence that life continues on that we have.

Are all mediums created equal?

Absolutely not! Some mediums are very "tuned in", and others really have to struggle to be

How to Overcome a Fear of the Spirit World

A few years ago I really wanted to open up to the spirit realm and learn to connect with my spirit guides, but for months on end, fear stood in my way. I was scared of seeing/hearing ghosts, disembodied voices, evil entities and even my own spirit guides. I felt that hardly anyone could help me overcome this issue and most of those who did just said I had to ‘face the fear’, which I felt wasn’t much help because I was paralyzed by it! View of God Creates Fear of Death

Rev. Cherise is a very special spiritual teacher and healer and one of the most spiritually evolved beings that I know. She is a medium and psychic who helped my family contact my brother-in-law after he passed. You can read about that story here, but recently Linda Woods interviewed Cherise about her concept of God. I think our Western Christian view of God is what causes us to be fearful of death. Grieving the Loss of a Loved One

My brother-in-law died suddenly when he fell from a ladder in 2007. We drove to Maryland where we celebrated Don's life and visited with my husband's family. Don was cremated so there was no physical body for anyone to ogle. Don was an avid fisherman and loved to be near the water. It only seemed appropriate that his celebration was held at the beach house of some dear friends who live on the eastern shore. Each person who wanted to speak was given a turn to share a story about Don. Afterward, Jimmy Buffet music played and margaritas flowed as some cried, others laughed at the memories they shared. I think I cried enough for everyone there; not because Don was gone, but because of the love everyone was expressing so easily.

Don really isn't gone. His presence was sweet and strong all day. Many felt him near and told how he has appeared to them since his passing. Some members of the family called a dear psychic friend of mine, Reverend Cherise Thorne who had offered to connect with Don's spirit and give a message from the Other Side (http://www.knowingspirit.org). Cherise's message was so comforting that the family was hardly showing any emotional disturbance. This was perplexing to me so I asked a few of them how they were able to be so strong. Their reply was consistent, "Because Don is here. He is not gone!" I believe that. When a wreath of flowers was tossed into the water, it turned around and headed right back into the bay near the house. It stayed there all afternoon in spite of the wind blowing in every direction. This, to me, is an indication that Don really wasn't ready to leave us and that he's planning to hang around for a while longer.

Cherise also told my sister-in-law, Tammy, that she saw animals in the spirit when she was connecting with Don. She described a beloved pet that had passed and then she mentioned a rabbit near a bench in the garden. The family had a flower garden with a bench where Don and my sister-in-law often shared a sandwich or a glass of iced tea. They had never had a rabbit so the information was puzzling at the time. However, a few days later my sister-in-law was looking out the window when she saw a rabbit standing on its hind legs staring right back at her. After a moment, the rabbit hopped up onto the bench and sat there again facing the house and looking in the window. Tammy knew it was Don trying to communicate with her.

Samhain (some call it Halloween) is the time of year that we honor those who have gone before us. It is believed that the veil between the physical 3-D world and the spirit world is thinnest then. A lot of people report seeing or having visitations from their deceased loved ones in the fall season. In my book, More Than Meets the Eye, many people told me stories about seeing a bird or an animal come up and stare right at them. "Don't you recognize me?" the little guy seems to ask. They just knew it was their loved one. And, why not? Small animals and birds have energies that are easy for newly passed spirits to manipulate. Not every soul that departs from the body crosses over immediately. Especially if there is unfinished business with loved ones left behind or if the death was sudden and unexpected as in Don's case. Sometimes a loved one will become a spirit guide for a family member they cherish. Three weeks later Tammy is still aware of Don's presence with her.

The time we spent with my husband's family was beautiful and rich with memories. I didn't know a lot of the people since I am rather a new-comer to the family, but there was so much love shared I felt like I had been part of the family forever. After all, we are one. And, we are blessed!

How can anyone know what the Afterlife holds?

Psychic ability is an advanced state of spiritual awareness, and many people are acknowledging and developing their ability to tune in to higher vibratory realms and communicate with those on the other side.
