Highly Sensitive People May Communicate with Ghosts

When I stopped using my own energy to offer healing to others, the empathic attacks lessened, but I was still able to see and hear in the spirit realm. Disembodied souls would awaken me during the night and hover overhead, staring at me until I woke up. I heard things no one else heard and I could feel the energy of ghosts around me. I even wrote a book about it, More Than Meets the Eye True Stories about Death, Dying, and Afterlife. I’ve always been sensitive to the energy of “deceased” people.

Jerry, a friend of mine, was fatally stabbed in the parking lot of a Kroger store in 2007 while trying to stop a man who had stolen a purse from a 60-year-old woman. When I heard Jerry had died, I was immediately catapulted into an empathetic episode like I had not experienced since I was serving as an intercessory prayer warrior in the city of Muncie in the mid-1990s. The grief-like energy I was carrying for Jerry's friends and family was so severe that after two days, I finally called on an energy-worker friend to clear me so I could stop sobbing.

After that, I put up some really strong protective barriers to keep from taking on other people's energy, but Jerry didn’t seem to get the message. His spirit hung around me for more than a week following his death. I didn't want to do what he was urging me to do—contact his mom and sister and give them a message from him: “Tell them I am with Mason.” The message didn't mean anything to me. I wasn't sure if Mason was a person, a pet, a bricklayer, or a lodge member. I hesitated sharing this insight because I didn't know how open his sister and mom were to having a stranger give them a psychic message and I didn't want to add to their grief. What if I was wrong and the message had no relevance to them?

However, Jerry was insistent, and at the time, I didn't know how to make ghosts go away. So, I found his mother’s address and wrote a letter giving her the message with my phone number and return address. I didn't hear anything from the family until nearly two and a half years later when I got a letter from his sister, stating that she finally knew what the message meant. He had visited with a friend who was a cashier at the store the day Jerry was killed. Her name was Mason.

Clearing Entities and Earthbound Spirits

Disincarnate spirits (“deceased” human beings) can exert a subtle or direct influence—both good and bad—upon humans. They may influence us without our awareness by offering inspiration that we express through writing, speaking, and other creative or artistic ventures. Or they may tempt us to do something harmful to a living creature or distract us from doing something that we know is in our best interest.

It is easy to distinguish between more evolved and less advanced spirits. The language of more evolved spirits is honorable and free of bias; these may be our spirit guides. Lesser evolved spirits may use harsh language and urge us to react to situations through our ego rather than responding through the mind/heart of God-Goddess. The ego believes in the need to suffer, feel guilty, judge self and others, and do whatever it takes to defend its position.  There are more humans inhabiting the planet than ever. That means there are a higher number of entities on the Earth plane as well. Author Ethan Vorly shares that entities are the unresolved karma or crystallization that was housed in the astral body of someone who has died and was not cremated. We know that fire and smoke are purifying agents, and this is probably why many ancient cultures performed last rites for a departing soul and burned the physical body on a funeral pyre. This is said to dismantle the astral body and transmute its negative karma. If this is true, then it certainly explains why we have seen such a huge increase in violence, depression, and suicide since embalming and burial became the preferred method of disposing of a physical body upon death.  The energetic pattern that was attached to the astral body of a human host during an incarnation is shed like a snake skin when that host dies. As the soul ascends into higher planes and crosses into the light, the astral body is left behind to roam the Earth plane where it seeks a new host with a similar frequency. During the ascension, people are suddenly becoming more able to see, feel, hear, sense, and even smell the presence of earth-bound spirits. I’ve dealt with earthbound spirits on many occasions. Jesus confronted them as well; if someone asked Him to remove the “demon” (as they were called in the Bible), He obliged.  Earthbound spirits feed off the energy of humans in order to remain active. They target humans who have similar fixations as their own. It might be someone with a drug or alcohol abuse problem, someone with emotional distress in their life, trauma, abuse, or someone who is simply ungrounded or not fully participating in their own spiritual development. So when an earthbound spirit finds a human in a state of despair, having weak or no boundaries, the earthbound spirit may attach itself to that person’s electromagnetic energy field that surrounds the body and is sometimes referred to as the aura. Not only does the entity start siphoning energy from the host, the negative energy of the entity contaminates the aura, causing the human host to feel out of sorts, have dysfunctional thoughts, feel physically sick, experience rampant emotions, or have cravings that are not their own. The videos at http://www.spiritistvideos.com explain the Spiritist view of entities. You may find them interesting and informative.  The best way to keep entities away is to raise your personal vibration through spiritual purification practices. Keeping your thoughts pure requires a constant effort, but as you vibrate at a purer level, these entities are less apt to bother you. It also helps to keep your aura close to your body and remove any negative or stuck energy so that these entities are no longer attracted to you. Keep focusing on the light within you, using affirmations, mantras, and clearing exercises such as smudging with sage. If things are really bad or an entity has been attached to your home or auric field for some time, you might want to use the alcohol and Epsom salt recipe mentioned in my book about personal ascension.  As you start to clear your field and remove layers of unresolved karma (anything not aligned with the law of grace), things can seem worse rather than better for a short while. I urge you to persevere and not quit in the process. For example, once you have cleared (or while clearing) a negative mental pattern, you may expose a dark entity, which was feeding on the energy surrounding a misaligned thought pattern. The issue brought to the light removed the entity’s energy source, which can feel unsettling for the host and the entity. Since at some time in your past you gave the entity permission (most likely you were unaware of doing so) to stay and influence you, you are the one who needs to dismiss it from its duties and help it move on.  Dr. Caron Goode says that when she did past life regression, hypnosis, and light-trance sessions, she always asked the client, “Why did you create or attract this entity?” Rather than trying to “drive out demons” you may simply need to thank the entity for the purpose it served and send it into the light. However, to get an entity to go into the light, it must first realize that there is a light to go into and that it will be a pleasant experience—many do not want to go there for fear of punishment.  Remember, earthbound souls are former humans now without bodies. The reason souls become earthbound is due to their emotional problems, and just like humans in a body, they need healing. Remain non-resistant by offering compassion to these lost souls. They need the same love and light we do. They don’t respond well to techniques that attempt to remove them by force. In fact, this can make things worse because even if the entity leaves, it may only be temporary, and when it returns it may be angry and seeking revenge.  The reason many clearings fail is because the person doing the clearing does not open the entity to its deeper subconscious feelings. Entities need to recognize and heal their deeper emotional scars. Free them from their misery by helping them see the role they are playing in the lives of embodied souls. Ethan Vorly writes: “Once the entity feels these deeper underlying emotions, it automatically allows the light in, which quickly transforms it. They are always sorry for what they have done and become loving beings as they are absorbed into the light where they are freed from all pain. It is truly beautiful to witness.” Once the entity is ready to move on, you can use the Entity Release Prayer in my book to send it on its merry way.  Yvonne Perry is the author of Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience (http://shiftingintopurerconsciousness.com), a book about personal ascension. Negative Places in the Spirit World

By Amy Lamb

There is a science to the spirit world. There are vibrational frequencies and corresponding planes of existence. I am asked all the time by clients who fear the negative places "Is there a hell?" and "Am I going to go there?". These words will bring all such fearful people comfort, regardless of their religious or spiritual beliefs. "Hell" in terms of the individual means the mental and emotional prisons we put ourselves in while here on earth which rob us of our freedom, and also experiencing the effects of our own karma.

In the spirit world, there only planes of existence that have varying vibrational frequencies. The spirits who live on those planes have vibrational frequencies to match.

On the lowest planes, you have beings who may or may not have ever been incarnated (known as demons) and they vibrate at a very very low frequency.

At the next level up are people who were extremely negative while on earth (criminals and people who hurt other people) who vibrate low. When they die, they live out all their lower, banal, earthly desires on the lower planes until they LEARN and the lower plane no longer suits them anymore. Often they will choose to come back to earth in order to progress to the next spiritual level, a higher vibration, and thus when they die again they can graduate to a higher plane.

The higher and more good the spirit, the faster the vibration. The more negative the spirit, the slower the vibration. And all spirits live on the plane that suits their vibrational frequency.

When your physical body dies, karma and spirit law will put you on the plane that matches your vibrational frequency. You will be with other like-minded spirits who vibrate at your level and will have the opportunity to learn from visiting higher spirits.

Lower spirits cannot visit higher planes because they don't vibrate fast enough to be able to get there, but they can visit the physical plane, as it is allowed by spirit law to challenge the incarnated. Higher spirits can, and often do, visit lower planes, as well as the physical plane, to help and teach other spirits - incarnated or not - how to get to the next level.

Lower, evil, negative spirits can visit the physical plane (and note that sometimes these spirits never left the physical plane), and do so to try to deter you from evolving and progressing to the next spiritual level. Their goal is to make you feel bad emotionally, because negative emotions have that lower vibrational frequency, and they are trying to hold you down. Positive emotional vibrate with high frequency, and help to propel you and graduate you to the next level.

If they have broken or disrespected spiritual law, evil spirits can be banished to lower levels, blocking them from ever entering the physical plane again.

It is important to be aware that we can access the lower planes in the dream state, or if you have a certain kind of psychic ability, in the waking state via astral traveling. This can be frightening, but it does not mean you are under attack or possessed. Sometimes it is merely a learning experience for you so that you understand the lower levels.

If you choose not to try to improve your life, you won't evolve and will stay vibrating at a lower frequency. The more you try - the more you emit love and light to all those you touch, the more you keep striving towards earthly and spiritual goals, the more you excitedly learn tough lessons in life, and conquer the challenges presented to you (that you mapped out for yourself when you were planning your life down here), the higher you will vibrate, and when you die you will be on a new, higher plane of existence with all new opportunities to learn new things.

If you commit suicide, you will not find peace on the other side, you may get sent right back down, only this time the challenges and missions will be much more difficult. This is why you never want to commit suicide - as hard as your life may seem now, it will be much more difficult for you if you think you can escape your challenges by destroying your physical body. You will still feel depressed. All of the emotions you feel now, will remain intact, just as your personality will remain intact, once you leave the physical world. This is why it is critical for everyone to deal with their issues now.

Positive Places in the Spirit World

By Amy Lamb
There is a science to the spirit world. There are vibrational frequencies and corresponding planes of existence. Regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs, these words describing the positive places in the spirit world work for all philosophies.

The good news is that you will live forever. Your personality will persevere. Although the physical body dies, the mind lives on, and your spirit will gravitate towards your true home in the spirit world.
When your physical body dies, karma and spirit law will put you on the plane that matches your vibrational frequency. You will be with other like-minded spirits who vibrate at your level and will have the opportunity to learn from visiting higher spirits.

Your memories of past lives, memories of all the time you have spent in the spirit world in between lives, and all that you have learned will be returned to you. For most people, this is a reassuring feeling. Others will not like having their lives exposed.

You will realize that man-made doctrine and law from the physical world has no bearing or influence or place in the spirit world. This knowledge and realization will be freeing for most, and surprising for others.

After the realization that your mind is intact, although your physical body no longer functions, you will come to the conclusion that there is life after death. Your spirit is real and is functioning right now. It helps your physical body operate.

After death, your spirit generates an image and form of yourself. You will look like something and someone. You do get to choose your appearance to a certain extent, but your limitation will be your vibrational frequency.

Your spirit generates an image of your true self. Emotions and thoughts, not being physical energies, become more powerful when you fully become a spirit.

All the feelings, thoughts, and emotions you keep hidden inside while on the physical plane are revealed and shine forth for all to see. This is necessary and important for your spiritual development, and is something that will definitely happen to you.

You will still be able to see the physical world just as it is. You will be located on the spiritual plane that matches your vibrational frequency. You will be able to perceive the spiritual level you are on, earth, and all spiritual levels that vibrate with lower frequency than the one you are on.

As a spirit, you'll remember or relearn your ability to propel yourself from one environment to another by the power of thought. The power of thought has limited effect upon the physical world, but is perfectly suited for nonphysical environments.

As you begin to look at your life and understand its meaning, you will see things from a different perspective. The ability to communicate with other spirits with thought energy will become apparent to you. Rediscovering how to read and even see the thoughts of others will hasten your understanding of your true position in the world of spirits.

Meetings and reunions with those people you knew on earth either in this lifetime or past lifetimes, as well as with spirits who were with you during your time in the physical world, will be heartwarming for most, and sad for many.

Spirits create their own environments by their power of thought and intent. The realm of spirits has more form and image than anything we can imagine here on earth. All that is physical on earth has a basis in the spirit realm or nonphysical environment. Earth is a model of the spirit world, albeit a less exalted, less beautiful model.

There is much for spirits to do. Creation and expression of your ideas can lead to much healing of your spirit from your physical life. Anything you always wanted to know or learn about, you can learn. In the Hall of Knowledge, you can read the Akashic Records all about your past lives and the past lives of anyone else to your heart's content.

You can help other spirits, be helped, help animals, be an artist, be a scientist, anything you want to be or do or create within the limitations of your vibrational frequency, you just have to think it.

Interacting with other spirits, including visiting higher spirits like angels and spirit guides, will help you make sense of your life during your time on earth.

While most people in the physical plane claim they would never want to come back for another incarnation, the spirit constantly thirsts for knowledge and growth, and after resting for a while in your true home, you will find yourself yearning to get to higher levels. At this point, you plan your life and go before the Council of higher spirits to have your next life's missions approved.

Everyone of us can visit the good spiritual realms now in the dream-state. Many people visit these realms in dreams to get healing and rejuvenation to be able to continue to carry out the spiritual missions they have chosen to accomplish on earth.

Ghosts, Spirits and Hauntings

By L. Meyer
We're all fascinated with ghosts. There are so many television programs that center around ghost hunting such as Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Most Haunted and Ghost Lab.

Shows about paranormal research, haunted houses and ghosts caught on tape are becoming more and more popular. True ghost stories have gained the attention of millions of viewers.

Ghosts and hauntings have become a focus of entertainment, mainly because we want to know more about what ghosts are and why they're here.

There is a difference between ghosts and spirits, and is explained as follows:

Spirits

Spirits are the energies of deceased loved ones and friends who have died and gone into the Light. However, they do have the ability to visit us, and they do very often. They can come and go as they please between our world and the Other Side.

Spirits are not bound by space and time like humans are. They are pure energy and move about effortlessly. Spirits love to let us know they're with us and that they aren't far away at all.

Ghosts

Ghosts are the energies of people who, for their own reasons, are earthbound. Basically, ghosts are:

1. People who have died suddenly and don't know they're dead
2. People who are attached to loved ones or places and don't want to leave them

Hauntings occur when a ghost feels threatened by our presence, or feels we're invading the space they once occupied, or is angry because their lives ended too soon.

If you feel your home is haunted by a ghost, you can try to get rid of them by firmly asking them to leave, and explain that they're no longer alive and must go to the light. You can also ask spirit to escort them to the light.

While ghosts may haunt houses and will do so for many years, spirit will come to get them eventually. Until then, we need to have more compassion and understanding for them, and look at their existence from their point of view.

What Happens to Our Loved Ones When They Die a Violent Death?

By Melissa Van Rossum

With all the news lately about violent attacks, including Ann Pressly, the news anchor from Little Rock, Arkansas who was beaten to death and the members of Jennifer Hudson's family who was killed, people are naturally wondering what happens to a loved one when they die a violent death.

I've met several ghosts who died from violent attacks. One of the most memorable people I met was Tim McClean, the man who was beheaded on a Greyhound bus in Canada.

I don't normally read graphic news pieces, but his story popped up on an internet page I was visiting and I ended up reading a couple of paragraphs of it. If you're familiar with this story you know why I stopped reading it after only a couple of paragraphs.

The remarkable thing was that I was in my basement office when I read the story. I shut down my computer, turned out the lights and began to climb the stairs. By the time I reached the top of the second flight, there was Tim, with his iPod earphones still in his ears, standing outside my bedroom doorway. I hadn't yet seen a photo of him, but I knew it was him since I had already connected with his energy from reading the story.

He was still stunned from all the events of his bodily death and seemed genuinely shy. He stood leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets. Although he wasn't in any pain, he did seem overwhelmed and ready to go home. I couldn't blame him.

He hadn't gone home earlier out of shock and disbelief of how his body had died. I think for a while, he didn't quite realize he was dead.

But now he did and he wanted to go home.

I gladly helped him on his way and he went home easily to the Other Side.

The important thing to remember when a loved one dies from a violent attack, is that once they leave their body, they're no longer in any pain.

Too often as the ones who stay behind, we stay stuck in the moment of their death or the time they suffered just before their death. They, however, move beyond this moment very quickly.

I met a gentleman several months ago who had committed suicide by shooting himself.

He was the brother of a friend and she was distraught over what he had done. Within minutes of my learning about what had happened, he quickly came to me. His funeral had not yet happened and he was asking me to send him home - which I refused to do.

He was not in any physical pain, but he knew the moment he killed himself that he had done the wrong thing. He was scared and ravaged with guilt and he was afraid of the anger and the judgment of those he had left behind.

He wanted to go home early to escape facing what he thought would be an angry mob. But he couldn't have been more wrong.

He stood in the corner almost shaking, he was so overwhelmed with fear.

"You have to go be with your family right now....I'm not going to help you until after your funeral. You need to go be with your family and do what you can to comfort them, let them know you're sorry, that you're still alive. You need to take responsibility for the pain you've caused them," I told him.

"They're mad at me," he said, "they're furious with me. I don't want to be around them. I'm just a disappointment to them."

"Well, you've done the worst you could have possibly done. They're going to be mad at you for a while. You need to go face the music," I said to him.

"You need to trust me on this, this is the only way you're going to get through this," I said unapologetically.

He finally left and timidly went to his family.

I checked in on him now and then over the week and he began to see how he had had other choices in life that he wasn't aware of at the time. And, just as importantly, he began to feel the love they had for him. They were mad at him, that's true. But they dearly loved him.

While he lived in his body he regularly felt that he was to blame for so much of others' suffering, now he could see that really wasn't the case.

He had begun to learn some very valuable insights even before he crossed over to go Home.

Which, by the way, he did cross over on his own just after his funeral. I don't think he would have been able to do that if he hadn't begun to see beyond the blame and the self-judgment.

Those who leave their bodies violently or tragically, move beyond those terrible last moments very quickly, and we need to as well. The suffering for them ended as soon as they left their bodies and their emotional healing began at the same time.

7 Signs Spirit May Be Communicating With You

By Joanna Garzilli

I'm always in awe when someone in spirit gives information I couldn't possibly know. If I wasn't having the experience, it would be hard for me to believe.

Your loved ones are often close by. They want to protect, guide, teach and heal your pain.

The more aware you become of the spirit world, the easier it will be for you to receive guidance from your spirit guides.

Who are your spirit guides?

Your spirit guides may be a deceased grandparent, parent, sibling, soul mate or best friend. You often have more than one spirit guide because they are present to support you in various areas of your life.

Here are 7 signs spirit may be trying to communicate with you:

#1 The message is in the music. Have you ever heard a song on the radio and felt like it was speaking to you? Did you notice how the words stood out? Did you become emotional?

#2 It's frightfully cold in here. If you feel very cold, shivery or have goose-bumps in a room that has no reason to be cold, it is likely that there is spirit activity in this place. Spirit vibrates at a higher frequency.

#3 Visitations in your dreams. Have you dreamt of one of your deceased loved ones and felt like it was very real? It is easier for spirit to connect with you while you sleep because your mind is at peace and you are receptive.

#4 You feel a spirit's presence. Just because you can't see a loved one doesn't mean they aren't there. If you sense it, know you are not making it up.

#5 You hear your own voice inside your head. When a deceased loved one speaks with you, it usually sounds like your own voice however it has a distinct feeling to it. You'll know because it is different from what you would think or say.

#6 Touched by an angel. Have you ever felt like someone is touching the top of your head, tip of your nose or is tickling your arm, yet nothing is visible?

#7 Electrical disturbances. Spirit love communicating through light bulbs, telephones, TVs and computers. Have you ever seen the lights flicker on and off? Or heard a lot of static on the telephone line? See if you can start noticing the difference between an electrical problem and when spirit is trying to make it's presence known to you.

The Other Side.

Becoming aware of the spirit world takes time. It's like switching the light off in a room and not being able to see in the dark. As time passes, your eyes adjust to the dark. You begin to see things you couldn't see before. This is how the realm of spirit operates. You will see.

How to Detect the Presence of Ghosts and Other Spirits

By Nathaniel Webb

Haunting happens - it's more popular than many people would like to think. One of the practical aspects of every book that discusses ghosts and other paranormal activities, is a way to test if your house is haunted. In other words - how to detect the presence of ghosts and spirits? There are many ways to do so, that I'm going to describe right now.

Cold Spots

One of the most popular phenomenons regarding haunting and ghosts is called "cold spots". As the name states, those are the spots of cold air that can be sensed out of nowhere. Imagine that you're walking through warm corridor, and suddenly you can sense cold space. You're making few steps forward, and it's warm again. You're going back, and cold spot is still there. It is believed for cold spots to be places where ghosts and spirits draw psychic energies to sustain their own "life" energies. Just be careful not to consider air-conditioner for paranormal activity, please.

Sensing the Presence

Another way to detect the presence of ghosts would be to literally sense a presence of someone or something, when physically there's no one around - no people, no animals. Like you stand in the kitchen, and out of no where you can sense there's someone else in the room - you're looking around, but there is nothing but dinner on the table.

Mood changes

Ghosts and spirits, depending on their nature, can change mood in single room, or whole room. Imagine that you're watching good comedy in TV and suddenly you want to cry - it might suggest there's some sad spirit in the room. Spirits and ghosts can also create happy mood, or negative or even aggressive emotions.

Objects moving

Some intelligent spirit (meaning conscious ghosts) can move objects with invisible means. Different items might disappear and then appear in completely other place, or ghosts might also move things while you watch them (it's quite an interesting view, I have to admit).

Those are active ways of detection. You can also detect ghosts with passive means, this is - by assuming that things like weird shadows, or astral lights might suggest a presence in the building. Sometimes also nightmares, or obsessive thoughts, and finally weird behaviours of animals might suggest some paranormal activity in your house.

As you can see, there are quite a few methods of detecting the presence of ghosts and spirits. Keep them in mind, but remember to remain skeptical - not every air-conditioner is ghost.

I Still See Pap!

Death is a difficult subject for adults to understand. Children have an even harder time trying to grasp the concept. That someone they love is not coming back.

When a family experiences the death of a loved one, adults may try to explain to the kids that their deceased loved one is in heaven or a better place. Most people believe in an afterlife in which the soul or spirit that was inhabiting a human body continues to live in some realm of consciousness. Yet many adults tell children that their loved one doesn’t exist anymore. It’s hard for kids to understand and accept this as reality—especially when they continue to see the one who is supposed to be “deceased.”

My grandfather, whom we called Pap, died in 1988. That was more than a year before my brother and his wife had children. Imagine the surprise when their first-born son was about two or three years old and reported that Pap was in his room at night!

Being fundamentalist Christians, we did not take well to having spirits messing with our kids. We concluded that this entity could not be Pap for three reasons: 1.) according to the teachings of our religion, Pap was in heaven and could not possibly manifest on Earth; 2.) my nephew was afraid of the entity, so it must not have been a friendly spirit—although my grandfather was quite a jokester; 3.) our family did not believe in ghosts; therefore, they could not visit us! But we did believe in demons so we rationalized that we were under attack. We exorcised the child’s room and forbade the evil presence from coming near my nephew again. Ghosts comply with our requests when we intentionally set strong boundaries. Sadly, Pap did not return.

As I look back on that event from a different and non-religious perspective, I should have realized that the visitor was indeed Pap. Since my nephew had never met his great-grandfather, he would not have called the visitor Pap unless the ghost had identified himself as such. Those of us who knew Pap could have embraced the visitation with love and gratitude rather than fear and retaliation. The way we handled this episode caused my nephew to be fearful of the spirit world.

My grandmother and I had been visited by Pap’s spirit several times since he had passed. But I somehow dismissed all remembrance of those events when my nephew reported seeing Pap. Our experience conflicted with our dogma. Now, I jokingly say that if your experience doesn’t align with your theology, by all means change your experience! We couldn’t possibly alter our beliefs!

Pap loved my brother and me very much and I’m sure he would loved to have known our children. It was only natural that he would visit us and them from time to time just to check in.

If your child reports seeing a ghost, validate his experience so he will continue to trust his intuition. There is nothing to fear. In fact, this event can provide the perfect opportunity to bring better understanding about the unseen realm and death. You might ask the child if he knows the ghost’s name. If he identifies a loved one who has passed, find out if the ghost has a message for the family or if there is something the family can do for the ghost. Many times our disembodied loved ones simply stop by briefly to let us know all is well in the afterlife or to see how everyone is doing. If this is the case the spirit visitor will probably leave on its own.

However, if the family agrees that the ghost needs to leave immediately and not come back, you can lovingly set boundaries with the spirit. Simply call upon the angels of light and love to lead the spirit to a peaceful place in the afterlife where the soul development can continue.

Is Sleep Walking Related to Astral Travel or Projection?

Have you ever wondered why some kids (and adults) are prone to taking a stroll about the house during the night? Regardless of age, we are all more open to spiritual exploration during our sleep. Children—especially intuitive children—are easily able to tap into the spirit realm night or day. It’s no surprise then, that an intuitive child when deeply asleep is totally in another zone—an “out of body” experience in which some aspect of the human psyche actually travels to other dimensions.

Astral projection and astral travel are common among spiritually-gifted kids. It is important to understand the difference between astral travel and astral projection.

Astral travel is a process of projecting the consciousness into visual scenes. In meditation we might call this journeying or visualization. Some intuitives (empaths) may actually feel as if they are in the place imagined. However, astral traveling does not remove us from the physical body.

Astral projection is when our astral body actually travels to other places. This mainly occurs while asleep in dream states. The rapid eye movement phase is normally aligned with this phenomena. The person is only aware of the experience if he or she has memories afterward. Although we all have out-of-body experiences from time to time, there are those who can intentionally project their astral body and have a genuine experience while awake.

Sleep walking is caused when the astral body is unable to release itself from the physical body. The desire to project will animate the physical body without conscious awareness. A sleep walking person should not be awakened while in this state. Instead, help direct and get them back in bed and allow them to awaken on their own.

Yvonne Perry's grandson, Sidney, was prone to sleep walking episodes when he was younger. One night his mother, Amanda, awoke and saw Sid standing at the foot of her bed. She was about to ask him to go back to bed when she realized it was his astral body and not his physical body standing there. Naturally, she was startled and jumped out of bed to check on him. She found him sound asleep in his own bed in his room. This demonstrates astral projection.

Our bodies are able to perform automatic functions like walking, drinking, urinating, or driving while having an out-of-body experience. You’ve probably found yourself so deep in thought while driving that you got from point A to point B without not being aware of how you got there. Perhaps you were deep in a daydream while walking and didn’t realize you had crossed the street until you “came to." I’ve left my house many times so preoccupied with thoughts that I couldn’t remember whether or not I turned off the stove or let down the garage door. However, my body automatically performed these functions while my mind strayed. It’s the same way when you are asleep or having an astral projection or sleep walking.

Out of the Mouths of Babies!

Author Yvonne Perry is the paternal grandmother of a intuitive child named Sidney, who is now nine years old. Before Sidney started school, he would stay at his grandparents’ house some weekends. They did all kinds of fun things together.

One day when Sidney was with his grandmother (known as Von-Von), he kept repeating, “Hannah, Hannah, Hannah.”All day long he called the name. Yvonne said she felt like he was trying to give her a message, but she also thought he was too young to be channeling. At about nine months old, he wasn’t even talking more than a few words.

Finally curiosity got the best of her and Yvonne called Sidney’s mom, Amanda, hoping to get some more information. Amanda had a friend who a daughter named Hannah. Amanda and Hannah’s mom gave birth within a few weeks of one another but they lost touch a few months later. The last Amanda knew about her friend was that she had a drug problem. Amanda and Yvonne said a prayer of protection for Hannah while they were on the phone. Amazingly, Sidney stopped repeating the child’s name after that.

The next week Amanda received a call from someone who was still in touch with Hannah’s family. Hannah’s grandmother had taken custody of the child because Hannah’s mother had been neglecting the baby girl.

Sidney continued to show signs of being spiritually aware. When he looked at his grandmother, he would sometimes look beside her or over her and giggle. Yvonne sensed then that her grandson was able to see in the spirit realm. That belief was confirmed one day when Sidney was about four years old.

He was with Yvonne in her office when she asked him to another room in the house to get something for her. He jumped up and started toward the door. Then, all of a sudden he stopped and wouldn’t go another step. He backed up closer to where his grandmother was sitting.

“What’s wrong, Sid?” she asked.

“Von-Von, who is that?” He pointed toward the hallway. She intuitively knew what was happening because she had seen the spirit of young boy flash across her foyer several days prior.

“I’m not sure what his name is,” she said, “but he will not harm you. Let’s call upon Archangels Chamuel and Michael.” Yvonne pulled Sid into her lap. He was still staring at the doorway.

“Archangels Michael and Chamuel,” she said, “We have the spirit of a lost boy in our house. Please come and help him see the light and go to a safe place where he can find his friends and family. Thank you.”

“He’s gone,” Sidney said. Then, he slid off Von-Von’s lap and walked through the doorway without hesitation.

Yvonne began to write about their adventures and the next thing she knew, she had a collection of stories. She compiled them into one full-color print book and titled it The Sid Series ~ A Collection of Holistic Stories for Children. These twelve stories support intuitive children in the development of body, mind, and spirit. In the The Sid Series your child will:

• Learn about inner guidance through a garden visit with the fairies

• Face the fear of storms in a kayak on the Banana River

• Help a pirate find the real hidden treasure

• Find a ghost in Sid’s closet

• Use loving intention to heal a hurt puppy

Five Ways to Connect With Your Angel's Guidance

By Suzy Morgan

For the last twenty years, I have practiced asking for and receiving guidance consistently from the angelic realm. Why the angels? It was my choice. The angels were hot in the early 1990's and I wanted to connect. I could tell there was something loving "out there," and I wanted to know what it/they knew. I wanted their protection and their knowledge. The angels seemed innocuous and safe. After all, in Sunday School, it was always the angels or baby Jesus that showed up for kids. Since I was no longer much of a Jesus follower, although I believe in the Christ Consciousness, the angels were a natural shoe-in.

Little did I know that I already had the angels' protection. Their knowledge was mine as well, but I needed to learn to ask. I was brought up not to ask questions, because it wasn't "nice." My first sales job taught me if I didn't learn to ask outright, I would starve and be out of work in a week.

Here are some useful and workable ideas on how to get spiritual guidance for yourself.

1. Ask for Help. Ask for what you want. Ask for everything.

Asking is not as easy as it sounds. We think we can muscle our way through life until one day we get knocked down one time too many. Sometimes we are not sure what we want. We know we don't want what we have, but we have no idea of what we do want.

The angels suggest you work backward from what you don't want. For instance, if you are unsure whether to take job, or move to another city, or stay with your old relationship, notice what you don't like currently. Write down all the everyday incidentals that annoy you. When you feel like you have regurgitated all your old self-righteous anger, then write down the opposite, showing you exactly what you do want to create in your new job, location, or relationship.

Then give yourself permission to ask your angels, your guides of Light, or the Divine itself. Be specific, although it is perfectly acceptable to just ask for insight or guidance about whatever is concerning you. If you are feeling secure in who you are but are unsure of which direction to move toward, then ask to be shown a different way, a different route.

2. Ask what you need to see for your Highest Good.

It's always a good idea to ask to see and hear from a higher level of consciousness than what you scrape up from your own judgmental ego. It's why I consult only with the angels or the Divine itself before I do any readings for myself or others.

3. Be still and listen.

As someone who is only learning now to sit still, this has been my most difficult challenge. Initially the angels only connected with me when I was in the shower right after getting out of bed. Or worse yet, they would babble at some ungodly hour in the way-too-early morning hours. All of this stopped once I caught on that either I gave them their just attention or sleeping through the night was not an option. The subtle energies do not shout, they whisper until you are aligned with their channel.

4. How do I know who's talking?

Great question. You'll know for sure what you are hearing, seeing, or feeling is from a higher level of consciousness; i.e., your angels, your High Self, the Divinity, because there will be no edge. There will be no judgment. What you hear will be validating and not frightening. When your angels and higher consciousness speaks, it will be through the voice of compassion, of love. If you are hearing judgmental, sarcastic, or combative things, you are not tuned in to a consciousness that is any higher than your own ego. Not a smart move, because what you hear will get you into trouble.

5. Take action.

Asking for what you want is only half of the game. The other half is learning to trust what you hear and to take action to follow through. The trick is learning to fine-tune your specific channel to the angelic realm, or whichever path to higher consciousness you choose to master.

Be patient with yourself. You are teaching yourself a new way of living in peace by connecting to the higher channels of Love available to each of us.

The Afterlife - Is There Life After Death?

By Suzy Morgan

I love this question! Let's hear it angels!

My smart-alecky guides are bent over double in hysterics. What do you do now? You wander around. You think you have a purpose because you signed yourself up for a job, or the dishes, or the kids, and they're all waiting for you, now. Yeah? So what.

The dead "walk around" without bodies. They are energy. You are energy. Today you see yourself as real but you are simply matter taking up space. You can look with your physical eyes in the mirror and validate that it's you. Because you recognize yourself, does that mean you exist? How can you prove you exist? By your credit cards, your bank balance, your appointment this week at the dentist? The fact that another being in physical form walks into your space and gives you a hug? What if you both made the whole thing up? Fun thought.

You do the same thing when you're dead. Only you've left your body behind. Not only that, but your behind stayed with your decaying physical body. What you carry in your head and your heart continue. For you purists, the brain and the physical heart die with the body. Who you are, how you think, whether you allow yourself to love or not, lives on. Your consciousness lives on with your soul for eternity. In truth, it's impossible to kill you off. You just shape shift and create a deep mourning process for those of us left in a body who still love you and think you are gone forever. We should only know. We can't get rid of each other except by choice.

The physical life of our third dimensional world gives you the opportunity to squeeze yourself into the narrowly constricting reality of the five senses. Your dead-life affords you the opportunity to enlarge your view of life by filling your spirit with the Light of the Divine. This is heady stuff.

Imagine feeling safe, and loved, completely at home with every other being. Imagine there are differences, but you know intuitively that the differences mean nothing. It's like vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. You may have a preference, but one is not better than another.

You gently merge with each other, still maintaining your sense of your self, but aligned completely with The Self. You know that you are complete, whole, and perfect, unable to separate yourself from the scenery, from God, from each other, and, more importantly, you no longer want to separate. You accept you are an integral part of life. You are as important as the bum on the street and the Divine itself.

In this place of a life without judgment, we can be still and absorb the Light. We can choose to act as a guide for others. We can allow ourselves to be guided by others. We can continue helping others on earth see life through our expanded vision. Our path is guided by the Universal Love that surrounds and fills us until we heal from the pain of the body.

Then we are free to choose again. If we are ready to try on a new body with what appear to be new characters in each scene, it is up to us. If we have work to do on the other side, we can remain. If we choose to do nothing, and some do, we are free to do just that.

Spirit Guides - How to Connect and Communicate With Them

What are Spirit Guides?

Many people believe that everyone has a Spirit Guide (or Guides) - entities that come from the Spirit world, who you can contact and communicate with, and who are ready and willing to help and assist you as you walk the Earth.

They are believed to be loved ones who have passed, ancient ancestral spirits, or even spirits from the Angelic Realm, and are assigned at birth to protect and support us.

Your Spirit Guides have learned many lessons and may well have also crossed your path on Earth in past lives. They know you very well, your strengths and weaknesses, and your abilities and your hopes and fears - and they know your destiny.
Your Spirit Guides are always willing to help and support you, but will not interfere in your life without a specific invitation.

Connecting with your Spirit Guides

Simple meditation is recognised as the best way to contact your personal Spirit Guides. Meditation is simply the process of calming your thoughts, slowing down, and focusing on a particular outcome or particular thing.

Spending fifteen minutes a day stilling your mind will be beneficial not only for contacting your personal Spirit Guides, but it will help you relax and enable you to reach some inner peace and calm that most of us have forgotten.

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Try to make it a special place and a special time in your day. To create a pleasing ambience, pull the shades or dim the lights, play some soft music, light candles and incense sticks.

To help increase awareness of your personal Spirit Guides and shift attention away from the Earthly Plane, we will create a special place in your mind where you can meet them.

Relax in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Every time you exhale, feel the stresses and worries of the day leave your body with every breath. Notice the sinking feeling when you breath out, and use this as a vehicle to allow you to let go and relax even more.

Visits from a Grandmother

Here's a story from Christine Plaisted, whom I met on Twitter. I appreciate her sharing her inspiring story with us.

Interestingly enough, my family has always had spirits visiting them, both strangers and familiar. My grandmother is the one who has visited me most often and been with me when I have needed her. She was the matriarch of the family and has visited others in my family since her passing.

My grandmother and I were always very close. She lived with us until I was eleven and even after that I spent many days with her, sometimes weeks with her during the summer. She passed away when I was seventeen. It was very hard on me and the rest of the family to lose her because she had always been there for us. I found out a year later that she would always be there for us even after she had gone.

When I was eighteen years old, I went on a mountain trip with my church youth group. We were sledding down the mountainside on truck tire inner tubes. It was in the afternoon, and the sun had started melting the snow, turning it into slippery ice. I made a huge mistake, one that almost cost me my life. I got on an inner tube with a young man (my accidents always seem to have a young man involved somewhere) and immediately after we pushed off, I knew we were in trouble.

We were going too fast. Even now, I don't have a lot of memories of the accident. I remember the trees rushing passed me. Then I remember coming to on the ground in severe pain, knowing that I had hit a tree. I checked to see if I had broken my back and damaged my spinal cord by wiggling my toes, my fingers and my ears. Yes, I wiggled my ears to see if I was paralyzed at the neck. Obviously, I wasn't thinking clearly.

The rest of the afternoon was even less clear. I was going in and out of consciousness. I knew I had a lot of internal damage. I was air lifted to the hospital emergency room because the rescue workers were sure that I wouldn't make it down the hill in an ambulance. My left lung was collapsed, I had broken three vertebrae and eight ribs. My liver was lacerated, and my stomach and intestines were perforated. I was in really bad shape. I was rushed into the operating room as quickly as possible and they patched me up as best they could.

It was after my operation that my grandmother came to visit me. I was alone in the room in ICU, and was just starting to wake up when I saw her sitting at the foot of my hospital bed, knitting. I had tubes everywhere and couldn't talk, but as I rustled in bed, she saw that I was awake and looked up from her project and smiled at me. She got up, put her hand on my arm, and leaned over to kiss my forehead. She told me everything was going to be alright and to close my eyes and rest, which is what I did. I don't know how much longer it was when my mom and aunt came into the room to check on me, but I told them that they had just missed Grandma. They just looked at each other a little worried.

A couple of days later, my grandmother came to visit me in the hospital again. My lung was still in bad shape from being collapsed and I had exercises that I had to do to try and re inflate it. I can still remember how painful it was to try to breath. My grandmother was there when I woke up. She sat there talking to me a little while telling me that she knew I could do the exercises and that she was very proud of me for working through the pain. The exercise was to blow into a tube to make three little balls go up in three different chambers. I was unable to make even one ball rise until my grandmother talked to me that day. I finally got one ball to rise to the top of the chamber. My brother came by to visit me a little while after that and I told him that I had gotten the ball to rise while grandma was visiting. He questioned me a little but didn't remind me that grandma had been gone for over a year.

It wasn't until I got out of ICU that I remembered that my grandmother had died the previous year and that the visits she made were not physical but were in the spirit. After that, I knew that she would always be there for me when I needed her.

She also visited me after my oldest son was born and he had to stay in the hospital in the PICU for four days. She's visited me in my dreams many, many times and she
has also visited my sons when they were young.

It's never easy losing someone you love, but they are never truly gone, just in another place where it's not as easy to get a hold of them. It's comforting to know that my grandmother has been there to help me through some really tough situations and she always will be.

Grieving the Loss of a Loved One

My brother-in-law died suddenly when he fell from a ladder in 2007. We drove to Maryland where we celebrated Don's life and visited with my husband's family. Don was cremated so there was no physical body for anyone to ogle. Don was an avid fisherman and loved to be near the water. It only seemed appropriate that his celebration was held at the beach house of some dear friends who live on the eastern shore. Each person who wanted to speak was given a turn to share a story about Don. Afterward, Jimmy Buffet music played and margaritas flowed as some cried, others laughed at the memories they shared. I think I cried enough for everyone there; not because Don was gone, but because of the love everyone was expressing so easily.

Don really isn't gone. His presence was sweet and strong all day. Many felt him near and told how he has appeared to them since his passing. Some members of the family called a dear psychic friend of mine, Reverend Cherise Thorne who had offered to connect with Don's spirit and give a message from the Other Side (http://www.knowingspirit.org). Cherise's message was so comforting that the family was hardly showing any emotional disturbance. This was perplexing to me so I asked a few of them how they were able to be so strong. Their reply was consistent, "Because Don is here. He is not gone!" I believe that. When a wreath of flowers was tossed into the water, it turned around and headed right back into the bay near the house. It stayed there all afternoon in spite of the wind blowing in every direction. This, to me, is an indication that Don really wasn't ready to leave us and that he's planning to hang around for a while longer.

Cherise also told my sister-in-law, Tammy, that she saw animals in the spirit when she was connecting with Don. She described a beloved pet that had passed and then she mentioned a rabbit near a bench in the garden. The family had a flower garden with a bench where Don and my sister-in-law often shared a sandwich or a glass of iced tea. They had never had a rabbit so the information was puzzling at the time. However, a few days later my sister-in-law was looking out the window when she saw a rabbit standing on its hind legs staring right back at her. After a moment, the rabbit hopped up onto the bench and sat there again facing the house and looking in the window. Tammy knew it was Don trying to communicate with her.

Samhain (some call it Halloween) is the time of year that we honor those who have gone before us. It is believed that the veil between the physical 3-D world and the spirit world is thinnest then. A lot of people report seeing or having visitations from their deceased loved ones in the fall season. In my book, More Than Meets the Eye, many people told me stories about seeing a bird or an animal come up and stare right at them. "Don't you recognize me?" the little guy seems to ask. They just knew it was their loved one. And, why not? Small animals and birds have energies that are easy for newly passed spirits to manipulate. Not every soul that departs from the body crosses over immediately. Especially if there is unfinished business with loved ones left behind or if the death was sudden and unexpected as in Don's case. Sometimes a loved one will become a spirit guide for a family member they cherish. Three weeks later Tammy is still aware of Don's presence with her.

The time we spent with my husband's family was beautiful and rich with memories. I didn't know a lot of the people since I am rather a new-comer to the family, but there was so much love shared I felt like I had been part of the family forever. After all, we are one. And, we are blessed!

Ghosts and the Supernatural

Ghosts are believed to be the spirit or soul of a dead person on earth. Supernatural, on the other hand, refers to forces and phenomena which are beyond ordinary scientific understanding. Both are closely related to concepts in religion, spirituality and metaphysics. The term supernatural is often used as a substitute for paranormal, and some of typical supernatural experiences are sightings of angels, healings and communications with the dead.

Dancing with Angels

Throughout history, angels have been known as guiding spirits. They have been called "Messengers of God." Angels have been seen as encouraging souls whose purpose is to lead us through transformative events in our lives.

Often, these guiding spirits are embraced so that a sense of comfort can be felt in the midst of despair. A dying patient and family members who believe in the presence of angels report feeling blessed by God.

What are ghosts?

African Shaman Tommy Mueller says they are confused souls who did not resolve their emotions before death, or for some reason didn’t fully cross over. This may happen when death occurs suddenly as in the case of a traumatic experience such as murder, suicide or a vehicle crash. Many times these souls do not realize that they are dead and will attempt to interact with their living loved ones.

This reminded me of Patrick Swayze’s character in the movie Ghost when he tried, as a spirit, to get his girlfriend’s, (played by Demi Moore), attention. Personally, I have had my own ghost experience; like the time I put the scissors on the table, walked across the room to get something then walked back and the scissors were gone! I looked all over the house, and finally gave up on finding them. When I walked back to the table a little while later, I found them exactly where I left them. I thought I was crazy or going blind. Sooner or later these departed spirits will move on—probably to another incarnation where they progress at a higher vibration or level of awareness. It is not uncommon for ghosts to hang out in the auric field of a person who vibrates at a high level or has a lot of light emanating from them. They may influence a person’s life in a negative way. Focused energy work or verbal command will remove the spirits and send them on their way. Remember the stories of how Jesus verbally cast demons out of people? These may have been confused souls who were looking for the light.

We’ve talked about spirits and ghosts, but I also want to mention spirit guides? We each have two or three guides to assist us on our journey. You may hear an internal voice, sometimes called intuition, giving you a mental nudge, instruction or advice. There are many levels of guides. Some are angels; some are the evolved souls of deceased loved ones. True spirit guides are of a much higher vibration than the confused souls mentioned before. They can be in more than one place at the same time. Their purpose is to teach, guide and even rescue humans when necessary. Some stay with you all your life. Others enter to assist on certain tasks or events then leave when finished.

Hopefully the material presented here will give you insight about interaction with your guides and departed loved ones, and help you appreciate those voices you’ve been hearing. See, you’re NOT crazy after all!
