I used to have a male spirit (he called himself Jonathan) who bugged me many times when I tried to meditate. He was acting as a guide and wanted to give me advice, but he didn't always have my best interest in mind. I sent him away by calling on my higher-vibrating guides and affirming that only those who had a purer more loving vibration than I did would be allowed near me. None could influence me who had not successfully passed more ascension initiations than I have.
