So, when you think of your loved one, he or she likely senses that vibrational signal and is able to respond by projecting their presence even if you don’t see, hear, or sense them. Many times, our loved ones on the other side give us signs that they are visiting us. Be aware of things crossing your path that are signs of visitation. These include but are definitely not limited to hearing songs she loved, smells that were common to him, objects that she would have liked, etc. For example, when my aunt is visiting me, I smell cigarette smoke and see cameos—a sign that we agreed upon would be an indication that she was contacting me.
More Than Meets the Eye, True Stories about Death, Dying, and Afterlife covers many aspects of the dying and grieving process and sheds light on euthanasia, suicide, near-death experience, and spirit visits after the passing of a loved one.

Souls in the Afterlife
Souls are typically only able to manifest in one place at a time while wearing a physical body. Without the body, a soul can travel anywhere and experience unlimited ability to move about and manifest in any dimension. From what I’ve learned, a soul can move from one place to another with nothing more than a conscious thought. Thus, one who was a mother to you in a recent life is able to be around you one minute and be about her business in other dimensions the next (or even simultaneously).
Belief in the Afterlife - What Does Heaven Look Like?
By Hanna Kounov
I have been meditating extensively over the last months about the Afterlife and what that means to me. I know that one day I will leave this Earth Walk and return to the Source to be re-born again to learn, grow and become ever more connected to Spirit. It is a shame in a way that I will not recall my current life however but should my Soul feel the same pull towards Spirit as it has during this Earth Walk I am sure to be okay. Perhaps if I did remember the last life time it might stunt my growth in the next. Who can be sure.
This is my belief system... that my Soul will choose to leave this life and will choose to come back again and again until I don't need to do so anymore. What makes my Soul decide that it doesn't need to come back anymore... I can only speculate.
Not everyone believes the same thing I do. Does that make what I believe wrong - or for that matter is what they believe wrong? I don't think so.
During my last meditation I had a definite moment of clarity. Everyone's Afterlife is what they believe it to be! If you believe in heaven... then that is the Afterlife you will have. If you believe in Reincarnation then that will be your Afterlife experience etc.
Why not? Spirit can do anything in the Universe... maybe Spirit is the Universe and of course there is always the chance that there are parallel alternate Universes. Wow the mind boggles!!
If we just keep it simple I think I can say with certainty that we get what we believe. Our minds are the most powerful tool we have while we are alive. It can make or break us with its rhetoric. If we believe we can make things happen, even miracles, or we can ruin everything with a single negative thought. So therefore if we believe that we are going to go to heaven then that is what we shall receive. Spirit would not allow us to have such conviction and then give us something we never expected.
As a believer in Spirit I hesitate to consider what atheists will experience. I am not sure what they expect to receive; nothing? Is that what they will receive? I doubt it. I believe they will receive a chance to return and do it all again and hopefully in that life connect with Spirit after all we are given the choice every Earth Walk to do just that. I think it raises some interesting questions that I will have to meditate on further...
It is really anyone's guess...

What is an afterlife experience? Are they credible? Believable? Or all a bunch of "Bull" that gullible people believe to make themselves feel better?
The truth is, there are a wide assortment of valid experiences that seem to STRONGLY suggest that there is an afterlife. Most of these experiences have very little to do with religious beliefs, or dogma, or what we were taught as children growing up.
For example?
NDS's, or near death experiences, have gained lots of popularity in the last 30 years, due to 2 very important developments:
1 - Advances in science are allowing more and more people to be "brought back" from the brink of death, especially in cases of cardiac arrest and patients who were previously clinically dead and NOT retrievable
2 - Huge public interest as a result of books like "Life after Life" and "Beyond and Back" has spawned an avalanche of publications on the near death experience... some very good and scientifically strong, and others, silly and hard to believe
Other afterlife experiences include psychic mediums, who are as popular today, and as believed credible, than at any other time in recent human history. (some say that belief in an afterlife is pushing 75% around the world, and that has gone UP even while belief in organized religion has gone down)
TV shows like "Medium" and "Ghost Whisperer" and even the many ghost hunting programs have made the topic of psychics, and the afterlife VERY in vogue... that much we can all agree is true.
But are these experiences BELIEVABLE, or are they simply wishful thinking?
My own experiences prove to me that something very special, very hard to define and even life changing takes place during an afterlife event. People who have NDE'S, for example, are almost uniformly no longer afraid to die, and seem to change their entire lives as a result.
People who see, speak to or even interact with loved ones who have crossed over report similar changes - a loss of fear of death, grief relief, comfort and a firm belief that they will see their loved ones again... after this life is over.
The truth is, you have to sort of seek out answers for yourself, rather than read articles like this one, if you truly want to open yourself up to the magic, and the mystery of what may await us all. I am a believer... ONLY because I've had experiences that cannot be explained away... PERIOD. I've spoken to mediums by phone and in person who I am 100% convinced, by what they shared, were in communication with spirits or loved ones who are "with" me each and everyday.
I've had out of body experiences. I've had a few "ghostly" encounters as well..:-)
To me, the best examples of these cases suggest that we are MUCH more than a physical body, but rather we are ALL spiritual beings having a very embodied experience and our mission is to explore, to investigate and to ENJOY this life so that we may learn, grow and continue on in the next one! (The benefit of all of this is - I'm now NOT afraid to go... but I still look forward to lots of exciting years HERE as well. :-)

Is There An Afterlife? The Sacred "Secret" That Psychic Mediums Tell Us About Life After Life
By Danny Fredricks
What happens when we die? Do we go to heaven? What's it's like? And what about hell or negative planes? Is karma real, or do we all go to the same place, regardless of what we did while alive?
Any of these questions sound familiar? If you are anything like the millions of people who ask these very same questions every day, the truth is, you are obviously not alone. The ironic thing is, while there is much speculation, myth and religious doctrine and dogma about what happens when we die, the very BEST evidence for the existence of the afterlife may be available to each and every one of us right now.
How so?
Have you ever watched any of these new shows on the "near death experience" where people who are gravely sick or injured are resuscitated and brought back to life to recall an amazing and transcendently beautiful new world? Not only have these experiences been reported for thousands of years, they occur to roughly 1 out of every 6 or 7 people who have been brought back from beyond the brink of death. (and have been carefully documented since Dr. Raymond Moody's groundbreaking book "Life after Life" was published in 1975 detailing hundreds of stories he collected from critically ill patients around the world)
How does that relate to psychic mediums and what they tell us?
Very simply. Because most mediums describe the very same world that the near death experiencers report. A world filled with light and love. And a world where this IS judgement... but that judgement is usually done by YOU, about you. Where you FEEL the way you made others feel in life... and you get a chance to understand the true essence of karma, and how we are all created to connect, not conflict.
Most mediums will tell you that while being religious is a perfectly good path (and many mediums are) it's NOT about rules and rituals in the afterlife... and that all of us, regardless

Is there Physical Evidence That We Live More Than One Life?
By Roy Stemman
Not only do many of world
religions embrace the concept of reincarnation but New Age followers with no
religious affiliations are increasingly adopting it into their personal philosophy
of life. Which means that around half of our planet’s inhabitants – including
Hindus, Buddhists and Jains – believe we live more than one life on Earth.
But
where’s the evidence to support that belief?
It is
surprisingly abundant, as I have set out to show in The Big Book of Reincarnation (Hierophant Publishing, June 2012).
The book is the culmination of 50 years of study, during which I have not only
researched the history of belief in rebirth but also met many individuals who
are convinced they can recall one or more past lives. I’ve also interviewed
most of the leading scientists involved in reincarnation research and twice
visited the Lebanon, during the making of a British TV documentary, to
investigate cases within the Druze community, for whom reincarnation is the
cornerstone of their religious beliefs.
There
is no shortage of reincarnation cases to investigate, if you know where to
look, but finding the perfect case –
one that satisfies the most diligent of researchers as well as hardened skeptics
– has proved impossible until now. There are, however, some extremely
impressive cases which, although not watertight, are very difficult to explain
persuasively with any other theory.
Much
of this evidence revolves around children who begin talking about a previous
existence almost from the moment they can speak. Some chide their parents for
not having things they enjoyed in the life they claim to remember: perhaps a
car, servants, fine food and clothes or good schooling. A few even try to run
away to find their past-life family.
Toran
“Titu” Singh, born in a village close to the Taj Mahal in northern India, was
typical of such children. He began
speaking at the age of one-and-a-half, sooner than his five siblings, and early
on he demanded, “Tell my grandfather to look after my children and my wife. I
am having my meals here and I am worried about them.”
Asked by his mother who he was, Titu replied, “I am
from Agra. I don’t know how I came here.” Later, he admonished his mother with
the words, “Mummy, please don’t go out in these clothes. I feel embarrassed by
them. My wife had beautiful saris.” He also told her: “Your house is dirty. I
will not stay. My house is very big.” When expected to walk or take a bus, he
complained, “I used to go by car. I will not go on foot or in a bus.” As he
grew older, he would cry almost every day saying he wanted to “go home”.
He
recalled many details of a previous life when he was Suresh Verme and owned
Suresh Radio, a shop in Sadar Bazaar in Agra. Suresh, who was also a noted
smuggler on the black market, was shot dead on 28 August, 1983. Titu’s memories
were so accurate and detailed that his past-life wife and parents accepted the
boy as Suresh’s reincarnation.
As a
journalist, I realised when I encountered these stories – minutely researched
and carefully documented in scientific and parapsychology journals – that they
deserved a wider audience. I launched a magazine, Reincarnation International, in 1994 to share some of these reports
with a wider public. The publication also examined the similar memories that
are often recalled by adults under hypnosis, though I view these with far more
skepticism for the simple reason that their minds have already been exposed to
a wealth of information from books, movies and television that could influence
or even produce the dramas they recall during a hypnotic regression.
Reincarnation International later evolved into Life & Soul Magazine whose editorial
scope broadened to look at other evidence of an after-life. But, like so many specialist
magazines, it eventually ceased publication, in 2001, as the impact of digital
publishing began to make itself felt.
However,
with a wealth of material that was unpublished and with fascinating new reports
and research continuing to appear in academic journals, it was time to put all
this information together into a single volume that sets out to answer many of
the questions that puzzle those who delve into past lives.
Do we
all reincarnate? Do we return as the same sex? What role, if any, does karma
play? Do we have soul mates? Are we part
of a group soul? Do animals have souls? Where do new souls come from?
A
total understanding of reincarnation is only possible if we can provide answers
to most of these questions, but acceptance of reincarnation for most people
will depend on far more than philosophical conjectures.
Fortunately,
reincarnation research has taken us beyond that with impressive new evidence
that some individuals are not only born with memories of a past life which are
subsequently verified but also bring with them into their new life physical evidence that appears to
corroborate those claims, in the form of birthmarks and birth defects. For
example, scars on his head, coinciding with the entry and exit of the bullet
that killed him in his previous incarnation, are also a notable feature of the
Titu Singh case, mentioned earlier.
I have
dedicated The Big Book of Reincarnation
to the memory of the late Dr Ian Stevenson, a professor of psychiatry whose
ground-breaking two-volume study of such cases has added considerable weight to
the already impressive volume of evidence collected over several decades. My
book deals with some of these cases in detail and also provides an overview of
his work.
Stevenson
was a cautious scientist who, for most of his career, referred to his special
area of interest as cases suggestive
of reincarnation. This reflected the fact that none of the cases he
investigated provided 100 percent evidence. However, it is clear that he
eventually accepted reincarnation as the best explanation for some of the
claims he investigated.
It’s a
view I share. In presenting the case for reincarnation, I have also been at
pains to explore alternative theories and to dismiss some claims that can be
interpreted adequately by more mundane explanations.
However,
even if we refute some of the evidence as wish fulfillment, forgotten memories
or other psychological aberrations, we are still left with an important residue
of cases which indicate some individuals appear to have been born with memories
of a former life and that cannot be explained by normal means.
When a
child is able to describe a previous existence and name the key players in that
life, even directing his new family to the village in which he or she was born
and identifying the former home and various relatives, it either challenges our
understanding of human perception and memory, or points very clearly to the
possibility that a soul is not destroyed when the body dies, but continues to
exist until a new “home” is available for it to occupy. And when that new child
– animated by an “old” soul – is born, displaying marks and defects that, it
soon transpires, mirror wounds or injuries from that previous life, then it is
time for humanity to ponder the enormous implications of that discovery.
It is
easy to dismiss such cases as oddities that simply cannot be explained–and do
no more about them. But they have occurred for centuries and show up in most
cultures. The numbers are small but sufficient to be recognized as a phenomenon
that deserves intense study.
After
all, they could provide the answer to the age-old question: “Do we live after
we die?”

Life is Not a Coincidence – Part 4
Here is part four of our Wednesday series of informative articles created from my podcast interview with Sheryl Glick, the author of Life is Not a Coincidence. Sheryl tells about the numerous times and ways her loved ones have communicated with her. Here is another one of those instances. You may listen to the entire interview at http://dld.bz/bqFzj.
Yvonne: We’ve talked about several ways spirits communicate with us. We’ve talked about the psychic smell. We’ve talked about pictures falling over when they really had no reason to. We’ve talked about sitting next to someone on the bus who had a shared name and likeness with the person that you knew. What are some other things we might recognize?
Sheryl: One day I was walking on the boardwalk by the ocean and a man walked by me who looked exactly like my Uncle High. It was so uncanny how much he looked like him. Then I walked a little further and a second man walked by me who also looked like him. I knew I had to call my aunt and uncle. My uncle was alive. When I was leaving the beach I went to my car and another man drove by me in his car and looked exactly like my uncle. I think we can call that a spiritual overlay. When someone in spirit can actually imprint on another person, some of their energy or their appearance or their personality so a medium can pick up it.
So I went home and immediately called my uncle, but he wasn’t there so I got to speak to my Aunt Lily. I told her the story and she said how happy she was that I told her that story because she felt it was her father getting a message through to her-that he was alright. She said to me, “Sheryl, you wouldn’t know this but my father looked exactly like Uncle High. Two weeks before he died I had a dream that he was going to pass but I didn’t say anything to anyone because I didn’t understand what it meant.” Then he did pass so it was obvious that my aunt has a propensity to receive information from spirit through a dream like I did with my grandfather before my father passed.
Yvonne: I had something like that this week. I was driving down the road talking to my mom and we mentioned my daughter-in-law. I turned the corner and I said out loud to Mom, “Oh, my god! That looks just like Amanda!” I did a double take because here we were just talking about someone and I see a girl who looks just like her! It wasn’t her vehicle so I knew it wasn’t her, but I was tempted to slow the car down and ask, “What are you doing here?” It’s wasn’t even close to her house and she would have no reason to be in the area. That must have been one of those imprints you’re talking about.
Sheryl: Right! It must have been someone in spirit who wanted you to connect with her or think of her. Sometimes in just thinking of someone we are sending out such a loving energy that it can help them. There is no time to speak, so our thoughts and intentions for creating and manifesting something wonderful can happen just that easily. Someone who needs help and those in spirit know who need it. They get the message to us anyway they can in a loving way.

Life is Not a Coincidence – Part 3
Here is part three of our Wednesday series of informative articles created from my podcast interview with Sheryl Glick, the author of Life is Not a Coincidence. Sheryl tells about the numerous times and ways her loved ones have communicated with her. Here is another one of those instances. You may listen to the entire interview at http://dld.bz/bqFzj.
Sheryl: There really are no coincidences. Coincidences are messages from higher spiritual beings or loved ones. Those messages come to help us—to tell us more about who we are and to guide us through the physical world, which is a very challenging environment. A physical life is not easy for many people. It’s a beautiful life and we can have much joy and health but we can also have many challenges. In learning more about who we are as energy beings we are able to transcend and transform a lot of the physical problems of the physical world.
Yvonne: Give us a few examples of that. What is something that could help us?
Sheryl: Okay I’ll give you an example of how someone who didn’t understand they were getting a message from spirit. It was no coincidence that I met this person on a train station. She looked like my cousin, Susan, so I started to talk to her. She said her name was Suzanne, so that was already no coincidence. She said she had been married for about a year and somehow I sensed that her mother had passed. She said something to the fact that her mother was not there.
I said, “But your mother was there at the wedding and she knows your husband.” Then she says to me, “It’s funny you say that but I have a picture of the two of us and no matter where I place it, it falls down. If I put it far back on the shelf or if I put it on another table, it’s not anywhere that it could fall off, yet I find it on the floor.”
“That’s her way of telling you that she’s happy that you’re married and have a wonderful husband. She wants you to know that she was there with you and she’s not really gone. She’s around learning from you, experiencing things, sharing love. It’s just that she’s in a different place of learning. She has experiences that she has to continue to learn on her own.”
The girl started to cry because she had felt something but not had validation and wasn’t really quite sure what was going on. My meeting her that day was probably part of her mother’s energy to urge me to be there at the right moment in time to help her daughter. They work that way from spirit. They are all connected and our loved ones meet. As you and I are sitting here now speaking perhaps some of our loved ones up there are watching and observing and sharing with us this moment. Life doesn’t end at death; it’s endless—we are endless as eternal beings, growing and evolving whether we’re here on Earth or in dimensions beyond here.

Life is Not a Coincidence – Part 2
Today we continue with our Wednesday series of informative articles created from my podcast interview with Sheryl Glick, the author of Life is Not a Coincidence, a book that tells about the numerous times and ways Sheryl’s loved ones have communicated with her. Here is another one of those instances. You may listen to the entire interview at http://dld.bz/bqFzj.
Yvonne: We still have consciousness in the afterlife, which is evident because of the signs we get from those on the other side of this veil. Talk about some of the signs that your deceased loved ones gave you with the birthdays. I know the number seven and eleven have real significance to you.
Sheryl: My mom passed on 11/7. She was born on the eleventh and she passed on 11/7. Numbers have great meaning for our destiny. The day we’re born and the day we die has great meaning. These things are not random.
My mother had promised me that she would get a message to me from the other side. Actually, she didn’t have much of an understanding of an afterlife but I was starting to believe in it and I said to her, “If anyone can get a message through to me it would be you” She had a very strong will. She was very curious about life and people. I said to her “Mom, what would be the message that you send me?” She said, “I will send three doves.”
I have received the three doves many times but aside from that whenever I see the numbers eleven seven, I feel her presence. There are other numbers that are so indigenous to her that I recognize some of the spirits who are around me. As an empath and medium, I feel the shifts in energy and I know when ghosts are around. It’s very comforting actually. It’s never frightening to me as it might be to some other people because I know they come to help us, to learn from us, or to assist us in fulfilling our destiny and life plan. If I ever were to feel an energy that was uncomfortable I would just disperse it: “One, two, three; you’re not welcome.” But I rarely have any negative energy because I only give out positive energy and deal with higher vibrational beings and loved ones for the purpose of living this life more joyously. Knowing who we are dispels fear and we can enjoy our life more.
Yvonne: Absolutely. Sheryl, you mentioned that your mom gave you the sign of the three doves and that you’ve seen that countless times since then, affirming that she truly is with you. I had a similar situation. I had an aunt who died about two and a half years ago. Before she passed we were sitting together watching The Ghost Whisperer, that CBS show with Jennifer Love Hewitt starring as Melinda Gordon. In this episode ghosts were pulling everything out of the china cabinet and tossing dishes across the room and breaking stuff. I turned to my Aunt Kathryn and said, “You’d better not do that when you’re gone; you better not play jokes on me like that.” She laughed! We agreed then that we would have a sign that would be an indication that she was trying to communicate with me. We picked something that is not seen every day. It’s not something that we could miss or wonder if it was really her. We picked a cameo. Now you don’t see a lot of cameos these days. That was something in the 1800s when a lot of women wore a cameo choker, necklace, or pendant of some sort. I know why we chose it. She lived in a house on Cameo Court when I was a teenager and I loved to visit her there. So we chose the cameo or silhouette to be her sign. Kat was a smoker and she died of lung cancer. After she passed I smelled cigarette smoke in my house periodically throughout one day. Nobody had been in our house with a cigarette. Neither my husband nor I smoke. I immediately thought of my aunt.
Sheryl: Psychic smells are another way that mediums and empaths are able to give information to their clients from relatives who are trying to make themselves known. You just know from certain experiences who it is!
Yvonne: I did! A few hours later my husband came home and he also smelled cigarette smoke. Now that’s was really crazy because but he didn’t spend a lot of time with her like I did growing up. So the next day, I went on Facebook and there was this woman who had sent me a little link to her website and guess what she was selling? CAMEOS! She was selling antique collectable cameos and wanted me to take a look. That was more than coincidence. That didn’t just happen randomly. It was comforting to me for my aunt to give me that sign. It was near her birthday so I thought she was checking in. I told her happy birthday and wished her well in the afterlife and sent her love and light. Then we didn’t smell the cigarette smoke again until almost the anniversary date of her death in November.

Are You Different in the Afterlife Than You Were in Life?
By Melissa Van Rossum
Although I didn't realize it at the time, when I was five, my favorite playmate was a ghost. She was in her 40s and a mother of three and she stayed with me for several years before finally finding her way home.
I've interacted with ghosts all of my life and as an adult I began doing psychic and mediumship readings for clients.
One of the questions I'm often asked is if our personalities are the same in the afterlife as they were in life.
The answer is yes, mostly.
It depends which afterlife reality you're living.
We can stay earthbound and become a ghost, which is a person who has left their body but has not yet crossed over to the Other Side for various reasons. But this is not a wise choice.
Or we can cross over to the Other Side. Which is what most of us do. And this is the best choice.
In both cases certain parts of our personalities stay the same and certain elements change.
In the situation where someone stays earthbound, their personalities tend to become one dimensional and limited in expression. They become single-minded about their fears.
Those who choose to stay earthbound tend to do so out of dread or anxiety. Most often they're afraid of what they think will be an angry and judgmental God and they're afraid of some type of punishment or rejection.
The longer they stay here, the more afraid they usually become.
Once someone crosses over though, they have a very different experience from someone who is earthbound.
Jennifer, a client of mine who is intuitive, lost her aunt recently to an illness. Elizabeth was a terribly negative person. When she was alive it was challenging to maintain any kind of a relationship with her since she took every chance to deflate the people around her.
After she died, though, Jennifer began regularly hearing from her aunt. Immediately Jennifer noticed that her aunt had lost her negative disposition.
Even more interesting, Elizabeth apologized for her attitude and how she had treated those she loved. She told Jennifer she realized now that she didn't have to act the way she had.
Jennifer was amazed. Her aunt's personality was still basically the same, but the hurtful negativity was completely gone. And Elizabeth was apologetic and insightful about her limiting beliefs and behaviors. Jennifer mentioned to me that Elizabeth was never insightful or self-aware when she had a body.
It was very comforting and healing for Jennifer to see her aunt growing and changing in such positive ways that she would not have while she was here.
Those that cross over receive immediate insight and healing that those who remain on the earthplane do not. That insight and healing helps people to release the more limiting parts of their personalities, allowing them to love and care for us in the ways that they could not when they were here.
Melissa Van Rossum is an accomplished psychic & empath, & the author of two books. In her first book, All You've Ever Known, she shares a process that deepens your intuition & awakens your soul to a happier, more successful and authentic life.
In Their Way Home, My Adventures as a Ghost Guide Melissa offers revealing perspective as she shares for the first time the very personal stories of her encounters with real life ghosts who searched her out in their quest to find a way back home, and how she helped them to cross over in to the Light. Plenty of books have been written about ghost sightings but in this book Melissa shares the stories behind why these souls chose to linger on the earth plane and how you can live a happier life by learning from the mistakes they made in life...and in death.
Melissa regularly speaks to the media & groups on topics such as How to Create the Life of Your Dreams, Ghosts and The Paranormal, and What Happens After You Die. You can learn more about Melissa and her books at http://www.allyouveeverknown.com/ and http://www.theirwayhome.com/

Is There Any Evidence for Life After Death?
Find out today on We Are One in Spirit Podcast as LavendarRose interviews scientific researcher and spiritualist author Dr. Jan Vandersand. They will be discussing his research and the paranormal events he has written about in his book, Life After Death: Some of the Best Evidence.
Many people do not believe in the afterlife because they say it can't be proven. But what you experience is yours and yours alone. It is not necessarily up for debate, nor does it need proof.
Jan W. Vandersande Ph.D. has described in considerable detail some of the best evidence that he is aware of for life after death. He has based this evidence on his own experiences, which include sittings with trance mediums and channelers, and also sitting quite regularly over an eight year period in a circle in which he witnessed physical phenomena such as trumpets flying around the séance room, direct voice, and ectoplasm. All his experiences are described in detail.
Additionally, three of his close friends witnessed full materializations numerous times and one of them, Professor Jack Allen, photographed ectoplasm coming from the medium as well as two full materializations. These four photographs are shown in the book.
Jan is a scientist and has a technical background that has nothing to do with spiritual matters. Learn how he got involved in communicating with the disembodied spirits and paranormal experiences that provide evidence for life after death such as those he describes in his book.
His experiences have made it possible for him to critically read a lot of the existing literature on psychic phenomena. He has cited numerous cases, which he believes are genuine and are some of the best evidence for life after death. These cases come from channelers, trance mediums, direct voice and materialization sittings. Several materialization mediums are discussed in detail, and some photographs of ectoplasm and full materializations are shown and are compared to the ones taken by Professor Allen. Considerable emphasis is placed on materializations since they are the most impressive evidence for life after death.
The author also considers alternative explanations for these psychic phenomena such as fraud, telepathy and “super-ESP”, but in all the cases he documents the survival of life after death hypothesis is the most likely explanation.
Jan W. Vandersande Ph.D. received his B.A. with honors from Swarthmore College, his M.Sc. in Physics from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He was a lecturer, then an Assistant Professor at the University of the Witwatersrand and then a visiting Associate Professor at Cornell University. Before working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) –part of Caltech/NASA- for eleven years he was a stock market analyst at the brokerage firm Rodman & Renshaw in Chicago for a year. At JPL he was a Technical Group Leader and worked on power sources for space applications. After leaving JPL, he was the President & CEO of the AMEX listed company Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. for eight years. Currently he is the Director of Communications for the Hi-Tech company VIASPACE Inc. He has had over 80 scientific articles published in scientific journals and conference proceedings and has three patents.

I Still See Pap!
Death is a difficult subject for adults to understand. Children have an even harder time trying to grasp the concept. That someone they love is not coming back.
When a family experiences the death of a loved one, adults may try to explain to the kids that their deceased loved one is in heaven or a better place. Most people believe in an afterlife in which the soul or spirit that was inhabiting a human body continues to live in some realm of consciousness. Yet many adults tell children that their loved one doesn’t exist anymore. It’s hard for kids to understand and accept this as reality—especially when they continue to see the one who is supposed to be “deceased.”
My grandfather, whom we called Pap, died in 1988. That was more than a year before my brother and his wife had children. Imagine the surprise when their first-born son was about two or three years old and reported that Pap was in his room at night!
Being fundamentalist Christians, we did not take well to having spirits messing with our kids. We concluded that this entity could not be Pap for three reasons: 1.) according to the teachings of our religion, Pap was in heaven and could not possibly manifest on Earth; 2.) my nephew was afraid of the entity, so it must not have been a friendly spirit—although my grandfather was quite a jokester; 3.) our family did not believe in ghosts; therefore, they could not visit us! But we did believe in demons so we rationalized that we were under attack. We exorcised the child’s room and forbade the evil presence from coming near my nephew again. Ghosts comply with our requests when we intentionally set strong boundaries. Sadly, Pap did not return.
As I look back on that event from a different and non-religious perspective, I should have realized that the visitor was indeed Pap. Since my nephew had never met his great-grandfather, he would not have called the visitor Pap unless the ghost had identified himself as such. Those of us who knew Pap could have embraced the visitation with love and gratitude rather than fear and retaliation. The way we handled this episode caused my nephew to be fearful of the spirit world.
My grandmother and I had been visited by Pap’s spirit several times since he had passed. But I somehow dismissed all remembrance of those events when my nephew reported seeing Pap. Our experience conflicted with our dogma. Now, I jokingly say that if your experience doesn’t align with your theology, by all means change your experience! We couldn’t possibly alter our beliefs!
Pap loved my brother and me very much and I’m sure he would loved to have known our children. It was only natural that he would visit us and them from time to time just to check in.
If your child reports seeing a ghost, validate his experience so he will continue to trust his intuition. There is nothing to fear. In fact, this event can provide the perfect opportunity to bring better understanding about the unseen realm and death. You might ask the child if he knows the ghost’s name. If he identifies a loved one who has passed, find out if the ghost has a message for the family or if there is something the family can do for the ghost. Many times our disembodied loved ones simply stop by briefly to let us know all is well in the afterlife or to see how everyone is doing. If this is the case the spirit visitor will probably leave on its own.
However, if the family agrees that the ghost needs to leave immediately and not come back, you can lovingly set boundaries with the spirit. Simply call upon the angels of light and love to lead the spirit to a peaceful place in the afterlife where the soul development can continue.

My Aunt Kathryn's visit from the Afterlife
My Aunt Kathryn died of lung cancer November a year ago. Before she passed we talked about her visiting me from the afterlife and agreed that our sign that her spirit was near me would be a cameo or silhouette. She lived on Cameo Court when I was a teenager and I loved going to visit her there. Cameos and silhouettes are not often seen these days, which makes them ideal items for this purpose.
This past New Year's Eve I was in my office when I started smelling cigarette smoke. I thought it might be Kat so I said hello. Later that day, my husband and I were sitting in the living room when I started smelling cigarette smoke and felt someone playing with my hair. I didn't say anything. I just enjoyed knowing that my aunt was letting me know she was with me.
A few minutes later my husband asked, "Do you smell cigarette smoke?"
"Yes."
"Do you think your Aunt Kat is here?" he asked.
"Yes, I do."
At that moment, I felt a warm energy flow down the left side of my body draping me like a heated blanket, confirming that it was indeed her. So, maybe she couldn't find a cameo!
This past weekend I made a trip to Georgia to visit my parents and 94-year-old maternal grandmother, who lives with them. For days after getting back home, I've been thinking about Aunt Kat and wondering how her spirit might be enjoying the afterlife. I also kept craving a cigarette, which is odd since I'm not a smoker and never have been.
Yesterday I got an email from April Weltch Anderson on Facebook. She asked me to take a look at her new page. You simply must click this link to see what I found there! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Victorian-Diva/142904345775139
I love you Aunt Kathryn! Thank you for letting me know you are alive and well in spirit.

Author Writes Book from Messages Received from Son in the Afterlife
Author Gene Skaggs joins LavendarRose today on We Are One in Spirit Podcast to talk about some comforting messages he received from his son in the afterlife.
Gene has been a student of A Course in Miracles
since 1979, and has written four books on the course titled: A Beginner's Glossary to a Course in Miracles
, The Relationship Game Changing the Rules
, 101 Questions and Answers on the Course
, and Biblical Quotes from the Course Reinterpreted
. Gene has been teaching the Course three times a week since 1988. He has a private counseling practice, does numerous talks and workshops throughout the county, and is a certified Psych-K facilitator.
In part one of this two-part interview, Gene discusses his latest book, Anderson Speaks. This book tells a story that began August 6, 2009, when at the age of 22, Gene’s son, Anderson, laid his body down. The next day, Anderson began giving his father numerous messages from the afterlife. The book contains those messages, plus tips on how to navigate the loss of a loved one, how to comfort those who have lost a loved one, stories of who Anderson was while he walked this planet, and messages for his generation.

The World is a Mirror of My Thoughts
The purpose of religion is to help us find that connection with God that we already (still) have and think we have lost but haven’t. Most religions teach that this connection was lost in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. The purpose of A Course in Miracles is to deliver us from the erroneous belief in separation that our egos have convinced us is true.
It impossible to be separated from God. But there is an illusion that the ego has created that makes us think we are. We are manifesting outwardly what we believe inwardly. Everything we see around us that we are not pleased with is part of our thought system that must be renewed by the Holy Spirit as He removes our wayward thoughts and bring truth to bear on every situation so that our external situation begin to mirror a more positive of who we truly are. When we change our internal thoughts, our world will change as well.

The book can be purchased as paperback or e-book through http://www.geneskaggs.com/ or on Amazon. Also available for Kindle Reader. You can read more about Gene here www.onemiracle.org or www.geneskaggs.com.

Proof of the Afterlife - The Conversation Continues
Los Angeles, California, February 10, 2011 – Mercy Books announces the release of its new book, years in the making – Proof of the Afterlife - The Conversation Continues.
It’s a true story about one man's crossing over to the Other Side in September of 2005, when, after an out of control heart arrhythmia at 1:15am, he wakes up dead in the afterlife, and comes back thirty minutes later to tell about it. In the words of his family physician, "Dude, you have been somewhere very few people ever return from." Since that time, this book also chronicles his somewhat unusual daily life - one of frequent God-encounters, and visits from the other side by family and friends on a mission to facilitate love, mercy, forgiveness and reconciliation.
